PA eMentoring Program

PA eMentoring is a mentoring program that connects students with professionals via email to have structured conversation around career awareness and preparation.  The program addresses the 11th grade standards for Career Education and Work.  Mentors and mentees have the opportunity to complete a series of online activities that focus on abilities, aptitudes, interests, career clusters, career pathways and post-secondary opportunities.  The information is captured in a career profile for the mentee to share with a parent, teacher, or counselor.

My Career Journey Program

My Career Journey is a career exploration program devoted to helping Pennsylvania’s students discover rewarding careers and identify paths to get there. Within a video game-like format, students navigate a virtual school and complete activities that are logged to a personal career journal.  The completed journal provides the basic elements needed within each student’s career plan and/or career portfolio.

Keys2Work Program

Keys2Work is a career-based, skill improvement, and certification program built upon ACT’s powerful WorkKeys system.  It combines career exploration, skill remediation, and National Career Readiness Certification into one program that assures that students have the skill foundation needed for post-secondary success.  There are four components of the Keys2Work program: identifying current skill levels, seeing the skill levels required for ALL careers of interest, using online WorkKeys curriculum to eliminate skill gaps, and lastly, documenting skills for employers and post-secondary institutions through the National Career Readiness Certificate.

Financial Literacy 101

Smart Futures has partnered with Wells Fargo to develop Financial Literacy 101: an online financial literacy resource built around the award-winning Hands On Banking® program. Hands on Banking® provides best-in-class, online learning content while Smart Futures provides pre- and post-assessments and a student tracking system allowing educators to monitor and document student progress. It age-appropriately tests and enhances student knowledge on a variety of financial literacy topics through three different modules targeted to young adults (grades 9-12), teens (grades 6-8), and kids (grades 4-5).

Financial Literacy 101 is free to all Pennsylvanian schools and community-based organizations (CBO’s) through a grant from the Heinz Endowments. Along with Financial Literacy 101, two other fun and educational financial literacy resources are available as well.
